Green cloth spine, red, yellow and black decorated covers. Endpapers by Thelwell. Colour and b/w illustrations. 173 pages. A little wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Covers scuffed. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn, creased and chipped, very little loss. Slightly grubby, verso of spine browned.

Pictorial card wraps showing Rupert with chums, waving from a tree. First story Rupert and Rollo. 119 pages. 9.5 x 7 inches. Base of backstrip split to rear for almost 2", no loss. Covers lightly rubbed at corners. Rear joint is split so the rear cover is detached from spine. NOT price-cut or inscribed. Contents are clean. Slight musty odour present. If not for the rear joint and base of spine, this would be an almost fine copy.

Covers grubby with darkening to edges and a few light scratches, loss of surface paper from top corner of rear cover. Both joints and one hinge cracked. Top of front endpaper detached. Belongs to box completed in pencil, partially erased. Some marks/fingermarks to contents but most pages are clean.

Ink inscription in To box on front endpaper and 1930 written to verso of frontis. A few marks to contents but most pages are clean. A little foxing.
