Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
In addition to a new rhyming alphabet, the nursery child's first introduction to numbers, coins, measure, time, the days, months and seasons and even some first prayers. Black pictorial boards. Colour and b/w illustrations. 86 pages. Spine and corners slightly bumped, cover edges slightly worn. Some light foxing. A light musty smell to contents. Dustwrapper is slightly edge rubbed, slight loss of surface paper to top corner of rear panel.

Staples rusty. Browning to verso of frontis. Some foxing and light browning to contents. A few light fingermarks to margins. A couple of the chromolithographs have small spots of surface paper damage, assume they have been lightly stuck to page opposite. Not dated but British Library say possibly 1884.

B/w illustrations throughout, many of cats! 87 pages. 10 x 8". Spine has faded to brown, with some other marks; appears to have been repaired to top and tail at some point. Heavy scuffing and surface paper damage to covers. Corners are bumped and very worn. Joint/hinge between title page and frontis is cracked, showing stitching and webbing. Foxing and browning to pages throughout.
