SIGNED by Alfred Bestall 'with love from Rupert and Alfred E. Bestall '82' to title page. Bestall was a close neighbour of the previous owner's Aunt. Corners lightly bumped & worn. Small split to base of spine. NOT inscribed. Price-cut. Contents fine.

Front cover shows Korky fishing with sausages from the front of a boat called Dandy. Two-tone and b/w illustrations. Binding is weak; joints are nearly broken and showing stitching. Splitting to top and tail of spine; some wear of loss to spine. Heavy wear to edges and corners. Belongs to page has inscriptions in ink. A few brown paper tape repairs to hinges of prelims. Foxing throughout. Some page tears. A fair copy of a very scarce wartime annual.

A Porpoise Book. Yellow pictorial stiff card wraps. Colour pictures throughout. Splits to both sides of spine at top and tail; bottom 1" of spine is missing. Some marks to covers. Contents are still very good - beautiful colour illustrations! Just some page browning,. Wrapper has been badly torn and creased, with a few pieces of loss.

Volume II - East, published 1932 Volume III - South-West, published 1934. Spines have varying degrees of browning and fading. Volume II also has a couple of small tears to cloth at top and tail. Inscription in ink (partially crossed out) to front endpaper of Volume I. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges of all volumes. A couple of plate pages (b/w photos), have neat annotations/notes beneath them in pencil.

Large format. 24 gorgeous colour plates. The story of Snip and Snap, two spaniel puppies. Grey paperboards with colour onlay to front. Pictorial endpapers. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Couple of splits to spine, which is also grubby, with a little fraying to top and tail. Some scuffs and surface paper damage to onlay to front cover. Damp marks to edges of rear covers, but only goes through a little to rear endpapers. Damp marks also to corners of front cover. Page browning, with the odd foxspot. Hinges are pulled in places, so that binding is starting to weaken, a few magic tape repairs. Illustrations are still wonderful!!
