Deluxe edition in publisher's blue calf binding. Gilt border to front cover with floral motif at corners and vignette of little girl in mop cap. Gilt vignettes and floral decoration to spine. All edges gilt. Cream and blue pictorial endpapers. Charming verses and b/w illustrations. The first of the Milne Pooh quartet in which we meet Winnie-the-Pooh for the first time in a poem entitled Teddy Bear. 'A bear, however hard he tries, Grows tubby without exercise...' Complete with blue ribbon page marker. This is the second deluxe edition. Spine and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Spine very slightly browned. Indentation to centre of front cover, pencil mark to rear cover. Name and date in ink to front free-endpaper. Small patches of surface paper damage to both pastedowns. Page marker is detached but still present. Some joints are cracked and some are lightly pulled but the binding is still tight.
