Onlay and gilt on front cover ribbed. A few short scratches to rear cover. Endpapers browned. Light foxing to contents but colours are bright and pages are generally clean.

Some damp damage to contents, two pages have been stuck together on bottom margin, now torn apart causing surface paper damage to last line of text and a few other pages have surface paper damage or tears to bottom edge. Large 5.5" tear to one illustration. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Numerous pencil marks to contents. mostly short lines to blank pages. Grubby marks to contents.
