Large format. Cloth spine with pictorial onlay of girl in yellow dress, pictorial front cover shows two girls, one playing recorder. 6 colour plates and b/w illustrations. 168 pages. First story is 'The Sea-Eagle' Nest' by Francklyn. Spine browned, bumped and worn with a little loss from top edge of onlay. Wear to corners and cover edges. Uneven fading and a few marks to covers. A couple of hinges cracked. A little foxing, mainly to text block. One plate partially detached.

Blue cloth with gilt titles. Pictorial onlay to front cover shows girl in red hat behind a tree, with what looks like a snow ball in her had. First story is Mistress Cinderella by Moore. Oxenham story is Peggy Plays a Part. 4 colour plates and b/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Spine slightly browned. A couple of small marks to covers. Joints and a few hinges cracked. Ink inscription to front pastedown. Small bookseller's stamp to front endpaper. Some foxing to contents but generally clean otherwise. 1 plate is MISSING.

Front joint and a few hinges cracked but binding is firm. Endpapers browned, pencil writing about contents to front endpaper. Foxing, mainly to text block and prelims. Text pages very good.

Large heavy format. Vol XI - No. 510 October 5, 1889 to No. 561 Sept 27, 1890. Green cloth with gilt titles and decoration. Colour plates and b/w text illustrations. 832 pages. Spine has been glued into place, split to rear edge and top of front edge. Also bumped, worn and darkened. Wear to corners, covers grubby and marked. Joints look to have been broken or partially broken but glue in spine is holding them firm. All plates present but repaired tear to one. Endpapers are grubby but contents are generally clean.

Small tear to outside edge of first four pages. Small area coloured on illustration on first text page, colour has travelled through to next two pages. Light foxing. A couple of pages have creased corners. Endpapers browned. Small bookseller's label to rear pastedown. A few marks to text block. Contents generally clean.

Lines of residue to rear cover, possibly from label. A little foxing and an odd mark to contents but most pages are clean. Frontis tissue guard creased.
