Inscription in ink to front endpaper with address written in pencil below. Drawings in pencil to rear endpaper. Evidence of bookwork damage on several pages. Two plates are missing - 1 colour and 1 b/w. Foxing and grubby marks throughout including several pencil marks. A reading copy.

Covers are a little soiled. Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Lacking silk ties. Joints are cracked but binding still tight. Endpapers browned. Foxspots to endpapers and some page margins. Pale page browning. A nice copy of this scarce item.

Vellum spine with gilt titles and decoration. Grey paperboards. 48 magical colour plates. Both calligraphic text and plates are mounted on grey art paper making this a truly unusual item. Spine and corners bumped and worn, some chipping to top and tail of spine. Covers are grubby and marked, edges are rubbed. There is some surface paper damage to covers, particularly at edges. Binding re-stitched. Some damage to front endpaper. Small margin tears. Apart from some slight fingering all plates seem fine. A good copy of this scarce item.

Colour and b/w illustrations. 291 pages. Spine and corners bumped. Top corners of many pages bumped or creased. Top of text block is dusty. Browning to some pages otherwise contents are clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn, creased with chipping and a couple of closed tears. Spine is browned. White label to verso to cover one of the tears.
