Splash marks and some uneven fading marks to covers. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges; a few to page margins, which also have a couple of pages with little damp marks.

Spine and corners bumped, some slight fading to base of spine. Some hinges cracked. Inscription in ink to front pastedown. Endpapers browned. Light foxing to contents. One plate has a small marginal mark. Brown decorated dustwrapper is edge chipped and torn with loss to top and tail of spine, some marks to rear panel.
