Cream cloth with dark green titles and vignette to front cover. Beautifully decorated endpapers. Bumping and wear to spine, corners and along cover edges. Small split to top of spine; some fraying to cloth. Marks to covers. Foxing and browning throughout. Bookplate to verso of front endpaper. 3 plates have chips at edges, others are excellent. Wrinkling to front endpaper.

Small chips/splits to top and tail of spine. Bookplate (Orkney House) to front pastedown. Browning and foxing to some pages. Pages 137-156 are wrinkled/creased with some edge-tears. Page wrinkling also to pages further on in book; margin marks and browning.

Complete in 4 parts, bound into three volumes. Blue cloth with gilt titles to spine. Volume 1 (part 1 & 2) dated 1892. Volume 2 (part 3) dated 1906, volume 3 (part 4) dated 1936. Colour coat of arms plate before part 2. Contents page of volume 1 is torn with a little loss. Map of Penbrok is torn in two pieces, with other tears along folds. Some damage to page margins; chipping. Repairs to pages 257-318 - paper repairs and sewing; rebacked. Browning to pages; some foxing. Modern binding with new endpapers.

Spine has been repaired with yellow cloth. 4.5" loss to bottom of original paper spine; quarter inch paper loss to top. Creasing to cover corners; some foxing and a few marks. What appear to be sticky glue marks to inside front cover and opposite on belongs to page. Name in ink in belongs to box. NOT price-cut. Foxing to outer page edges and a few page margins. Some page corner creases. Illustrations are still lovely and bright!!!
