Front joint next to free front endpaper is cracked. Page edge browning. Foxing/browning to some pages internally.

Yellow boards, green title to spine and vignette to front cover. 4 wonderful colour plates plus b/w text illustrations. Monty was a Bachelor Hedgehog of settled habits but he was lonely... Some browning and brown tape glue marks to edges. Foxing to endpapers, outer page edges and some page margins. All colour plate are present - some browning. Wrapper is price-cut with tears and chips; a little loss to top of spine; some grubby marks; has been strengthened with sticky tape to edges and folds to verso.

Blue cloth covers, gilt title to spine and vignettes to spine and front cover. B/w illustrations throughout. 390 pages plus 16 page booklist to rear. All edges gilt. Catalogue to rear of book is dated August 1889. Spine is bumped with wear and faded. Corners are bumped. Front hinge next to frontis page is cracked, with browning glue marks showing. Frontis is edge-creased with a few nicks and some foxing. Tissue guard to frontis is heavily foxed. A couple of hinges are pulled. Foxing to varying degrees to pages throughout book.

The Colour frontis and 4 half-tone illustrations from the John Hamilton editions have also been included. B/w illustrations originally printed in Modern Boy have also been included where possible. Limited to 300 overall copies, this edition is further Limited to 50 copies and includes a hand drawn and coloured illustration to front endpaper by Skilleter.
