Green cloth boards, gilt title to spine and gilt vignette to front. Tissue-guarded colour frontis plus numerous b/w text illustrations. x and 294 pages plus 24 page publisher adverts to rear. Front edge of spine fraying and split to outside edge. Corners lightly worn. Inscription in ink to half-title page. Frontispiece present but detached. A few hinges starting to pull. Some grubby marks present.

Name in ink to front endpaper. Crease and small edge tear to page 85/86. Small brown spot to lower edge of text block affects bottom edge of a few pages. A little foxing.
