A little bumping to spine and corners. A couple of grubby fingermarks to covers. Ink inscription to half title page. Small bookseller's sticker to rear pastedown. Pencil scribble to last colour illustration, mostly to silhouetted figures so not too noticeable. Dustwrapper is edge worn and torn with some loss to top and bottom of spine and rear panel. Flaps are grubby. Tape repair on verso.

Some browning to endpapers and prelims. Stitching is loosening but contents are still firmly attached. Dustwrapper is edge worn and rubbed with a few small tears, which have been taped on verso. Front panel is creased. Verso of wrapper is foxed.
