Beatrix Potter wrote this tale in 1907, basing it on a true story. She never did illustrate it and the manuscript did not come to light until after her death, when a small edition was published. Now re-issued with beautiful colour illustrations by the noted artist Marie Angel whose work has been favourably compared to Potter. White pictorial boards. 47pp. 6.5 x 5". A charming little book. ISBN: 0723213364. Small indentation to lower edge of front cover. Endpapers are partly browned. Dustwrapper is lightly browned with a couple of small foxspots.

Foxing and a slight musty smell to contents. Name and address in red ink to front pastedown (hidden below wrapper flap). Dustwrapper is well worn with slight loss, rear panel is grubby and there is a horizontal tear across front panel (tape repaired on verso).
