Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
A lively, stirring tale of pirates on the Spanish Main, thrilling but never frightening, told by a sailor with a glorious sense of humour. Red cloth, dark blue titles and vignette to front. Colour and b/w illustrations. 48 pages. Spine bumped, darkening to top edges of covers. Endpapers browned. Tear to margin of pages 25-32. Foxing to text block. Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and chipped with loss from top of spine and rear fold. Spine browned.

Chops the Pekingese didn't want to wear a muzzle so he left home. Cloth spine, pictorial front cover. Colour plates plus green and white illustrations. 23 pages. Text in rhyme. Spine bumped with small holes to top half, front edge browned. Covers grubby and marked, loss of surface along bottom edge of rear cover. Endpapers browned. Ink inscription to front endpaper. A couple of hinges cracked. A few fingermarks to contents. Light browning to margins of plates.

Erased blue pencil marks to front endpaper and verso of frontis. Colour pencil lines to front and rear joint. Some marks to page margins. Browning to endpapers.
