Red cloth with black titles to spine and front cover. 254 pages. B/w illustrations. Spine slightly bumped. Endpapers and outer page edges lightly foxed. Wrapper is just slightly edge chipped, but otherwise complete. Some small closed tears to outer edges, 1" closed tear to spine. Brown paper reinforcements to outer edges of verso. Overall, wrapper is grubby with small stain to front panel. Still a desirable copy of a very scarce wrapper.

Red cloth with black titles to spine and front cover. B/w illustrations throughout. 256 pages. Spine slightly bumped. Fox spots to prelims and outer page edges. A bright copy in dustwrapper which is edge rubbed with a couple of small closed tears and slight chipping to corners. Large closed tear to top edge of rear panel continuing to spine, leading to some loss (1" x 0.5") to surrounding area of spine. Small patch of loss to top corner of front panel. Slight marking to rear panel. A nice copy of the 2nd edition.

Bright blue cloth, gilt titles and vignette to front cover and spine. Blue and white pictorial endpapers. Top edge gilt. 227 pages. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Spine slightly darkened with a few faint spots at base. Otherwise covers bright and clean. Endpapers browned. First hinge is cracked at the top. Contents and plates are fine.

Orange boards and spine. Front cover shows Rupert and his friend Peter in a room with two barrels and a trunk. Coloured picture of Rupert on spine. 6 stories, first one is 'Rupert at the Seaside'. Colour frontis as cover. 50mm thick. 9 x 6". Unpaginated. Cover edges and sides of spine worn. Slight surface paper loss at top and tail of spine. Rear cover a little scuffed. Covers unusually bright and clean with very little wear to spine. Foxing to endpapers. Some neat colouring to contents. Two closed tears, one approximately 4" and repaired, the other 1". Both have old tapemarks. A couple of pulled hinges, some small closed margin tears, one page has corner tip missing. Otherwise the contents are bright and clean with no foxing. A nice copy. REDUCED FROM £750!

Matching pictorial stiff card wrapper is edge-chipped, has a scratch to front, a few grubby marks and is rubbed at folds. Exceptionally rare in original wrapper.

Grubby fingermarks to page margins throughout (including to plate margins but actual illustrations still lovely and bright). Foxing to tissue-guards. A light scratch mark to margin of frontis affects the picture a little bit.
