Pictorial boards. Front cover shows Fox with cockrel. B/w illustrations throughout. Some cats by Wain. Spine and corners slightly bumped and worn. Front cover illustration is still bright. Some slight chipping of paper covering to spine. Small binding error of crease in paper to rear cover. Inscription in ink to verso of title-page (dated 1909) and one name crossed out and replaced with another. Some slight foxing and fingering to contents. Light tobacco smell to contents.

Brown cloth spine with dark brown title and illustration, pictorial front board. Colour plates plus b/w text illustrations (mostly Wain but others also). Spine is grubby. Covers are edge worn and also grubby, a couple of small scratch marks to front cover. New endpapers. Some light foxing. Some colouring to some of the b/w illustrations and some erasing as well. There is a musty (tobbaco?) smell to the contents.
