Pictorial covers - Rupert, Bill Badger and Algy sitting on a fence. 120 pages. 1st story Rupert and Miranda. Painting page and puzzle pages. Backstrip (spine) is completely MISSING. Cover edges are bumped with some wear; marks to covers. Binding is still good. Belongs to box has been completed with ink and then scribbled out in pencil. Price-cut. Painting contest has been partially completed with crayon. 3-4" tear to first story page. A few marks to first few pages, else contents are generally very good; illustrations are nice and bright. A few margin marks. Foxing and browning to outer page edges. A reading copy.

Written with great care in straight forward, non-technical language and illustrated with many fascinating photographs and explanatory drawings. Large format. Blue boards, dark blue title to spine. 192 pages. Minimal bumping to spine, heavy bumping to corners. Wear to bottom edge of front cover, light browning to some cover edges. Heavy foxing to title page, frontis and half-title page. Light foxing to page edges. Book has musty smell. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and creased. Large tear to front panel, stain to bottom part of spine and panels alongside. Some browning. Clear tape stuck on verso to edges and tears. Foxed.

October 1895 to September 1896. Large heavy format. Dark blue textured boards with leather corners and spine. Gilt titles and bands to spine. 10 plates listed, 2 are colour. 832 pages. Spine and corners worn with some loss of surface. Small split to top of spine. White marks (damp?) to covers. Three names in pen to front pastedown. Endpapers browned. Contents are very good, just an odd mark. All plates present. Book has slight musty smell.

Matt pictorial paper boards entitled 'Baby's Play Time' to front depicting small girl pulling doll in trolley, dark red titles. Pictorial endpapers. Colour plates, two tone and b/w illustrations. First story is Mrs Brown Hen. Large print text. Edited by Strang. Spine is bumped and worn with some loss of surface paper at either end also slightly faded and marked. Corners and cover edges worn. Covers a bit grubby and scuffed. Front joint cracked next to frontis. Rear joint and some hinges also cracked. Browning to endpapers and prelims, heavy foxing to contents. Small dated inscription to prelims. One plate detached and has large corner crease. Creasing to title page.

Spine is worn and chipped with loss from top and bottom. Bumping to corners. Wear to corners and cover edges. Covers a little grubby and scuffed. Both joints and a couple of hinges cracked. Remains of label and ink inscription to front pastedown. Mark to verso of frontis. Contents are browned with a little foxing and just a few marks.

Most hinges also badly cracked, rear joint ok. All plates present but 2 detached. All pages present. Some foxing, browning and marks to contents. A reading copy.
