Pictorial front cover shows three girls sitting on grass, one reading a book. First story is "The Influence of Anne" by D.F. Bruce. 6 colour plates, b/w text illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Cover edges worn. Some slight chipping to edges of onlay to spine. Name plate to front pastedown. Endpapers browned. Foxing and some fingering to page edges and margins.

Fair condition.
Edited by Mrs. Herbert Strang. Blue boards, pictorial onlays to front and spine. Front shows a boy and a girl on a toy horse. Colour frontis and illulstrations, b/w text illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Rear cover is grubby and faded at edges. Endpapers lightly browned. Heavy foxing to textblock, some light foxing to contents. Some grubby fingermarks to page margins. Some of the b/w illustrations have been coloured in. Inscription in ink to belongs to box. Some hinges cracked causing contents to be a little loose.

Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
Cream cloth, large pictorial onlay to spine and front board, front board shows boy cooking over an open fire whilst girl is passing sticks for fire. First story is 'The Griffins' by Florence Harrison. Colour frontis shows 'The Brownie Gets His Cream'. Colour & b/w illustrations. Boards clean, worn at corners. Name in ink to front pastedown. A few minor foxspots and light marks to margins. Colour plate "She bore away from the danger" has been neatly trimmed away on bottom margin (about an inch missing) but still bears the title of the plate and has a few small closed tears to vertical edge. Pictorial wrapper has neat inscription in ink to front panel, is edge-worn and has loss at edges. Overall, still a decent copy.
