This is the U.S. edition. Light blue cloth, gilt vignettes and titles to spine and front cover. Top edges gilt. White design on green endpapers. 232 pages. 10 x 7.5". 12 colour plates. B/w text illustrations. Spine very slightly bumped and rubbed. Top 2" of spine and a tiny section to top edge of rear cover faded. A few tiny spots to edge of textblock. Endpapers are browned. Dustwrapper is edge torn with tape repairs on verso, loss to top of spine and slightly grubby on rear panel.

30 plates in brown/red hard card-cover (very large). With reference book to the plates - blue cloth with gilt title to spine. Beautiful full colour plates. Plates are complete, in original green paper case, inside hard card cover. Some plates have obviously been used for displying on walls and have marks to verso. Some also have a few small edge-chips/tears and some yellowing tape repairs. Overall though - very good - plates are still bright. All plates have staple pin holes, where they have been taken out of where they were original bound in. Book is marked to covers, has a couple of school ink stamps internally - but overall very good.

Blue cloth, white titles. Colour frontis. 8 b/w plates. Written when Russ was 19 years old, he later wrote under the pseudonym of Patrick O'Brian. Superb Tunnicliffe illustrations. REDUCED PRICE. Top and tail of spine slightly faded. Spine slightly bumped. Last few pages lightly foxed else contents fine. Original brown wrapper with pictorial onlay is price-cut and very slightly nicked at top and tail of spine. A lovely copy of this rare title.

One hinge pulled, a few foxspots and finger marks. 2.25" closed tear to bottom edge of 'up with the lark'. A nice copy.
