Contains: 'Wales Illustrated, In A Series of Views, North and South (2 vols), plus Westmorland, Cumberland, Durham & Northumberland Illustrated and 'The People's Gallery of Engravings, 4 vols in one. Contains numerous steel engraved plates. 3 plates have been professionally hand-coloured. Wear to cover edges; a little bumping to corners. A few scuff marks to covers and top of spine. Foxing and browning to some pages.

Small format. Dark blue covers with brass clasp. Front part of clasp has now broken off and is missing. Heavy wear to covers; creasing to a couple of corners. Some scuff marks. Front joint is cracked and weak at this part of binding. Chipping to some page edges; small loss. Page browning. A little pencil to fold-out pages to rear, which also has a couple of edge-tears.

Covers are heavily worn; bumping and chipping to corners; grubby marks; some red crayon scribble to rear cover. Onlay has a little chipping to edges. Front joint is cracked. Grubby marks and some foxing to pages internally. Tears to edges of some pages; one has 1" x 1" semi-circle of loss to margin (with tiny piece of loss from actual illustration). Classic charming Louis Wain cat illustrations!

Full leather binding with gilt titles and pictorial onlay to front cover. Ribbon ties weaved into binding of covers. 50 colour plates; tipped-in. Heavy, hand-made paper. Text is in Dutch. A lovely edition! Limited edition to 325 copies. 8" split to top of spine next to front cover. 3-4" split to base of spine on rear side of covers. Bumping and wear to corners and spine. A little chipping along cover edges. Original ribbon ties are still present on binding - one to bottom of front cover has partly torn off, so can not be tied to ribbon on rear cover; original piece of torn of ribbon still present inside, but detached. A few marks to covers. Looks like repair work has been professionally done at some point; new overlap edges have been very neatly added, so protecting more original corners. The book also appears to have new endpapers. Some foxing to outer page edges and a few to some pages internally. Some creasing to uncut page edges. All plates are present and in excellent condition!
