The story of a year in the life of a badger and his mate. Superb b/w illustrations (full-page and to text). Brown boards, silver title to spine. 95 pages. 8.5 x 6.5". Some light wear along cover edges. Award plate to front endpaper. Page edge browning. Small damp mark to page edge of last few pages of book. Wrapper is browned, creased with many edge-tears and chips; some loss to corners and top and tail of spine.

Pastedowns are starting to come away from suede at edges with slight loss to lower rear corner. Some damp marks along a few edges. Tiny pinhole to last 10 pages caused by insect. Some margin marks and foxing, but contents are still generally very good in this more unusual format of this title!

Split all the way down back side of spine; still kept together by string. A few damp marks to cover edges. Frontis has become detached (by small tear) to top binding. Contents are still generally very good.

Large format. Cloth spine, pictorial boards show children drawing on blackboard. First story is "The Elf-Girl and the Prince". Pretty colour plates by Temple. B/w illustrations throughout including one small picture by Wain featuring 3 cats in the sea. Bumping and wear to corners and cover edges. Inscription in ink to belongs to page. Foxing to outer page edges and a few page margins. Wrapper is creased with a few large tears and chips; only a little loss to a couple of corners and top of spine.

Large format. 24 gorgeous colour plates. The story of Snip and Snap, two spaniel puppies. Grey paperboards with colour onlay to front. Pictorial endpapers. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Couple of splits to spine, which is also grubby, with a little fraying to top and tail. Some scuffs and surface paper damage to onlay to front cover. Damp marks to edges of rear covers, but only goes through a little to rear endpapers. Damp marks also to corners of front cover. Page browning, with the odd foxspot. Hinges are pulled in places, so that binding is starting to weaken, a few magic tape repairs. Illustrations are still wonderful!!
