Frontis is detached but still present. Foxing to textblock and to page margins, also some slight page browning.

Published for Boots The Chemist. Large format. Red cloth covers, gilt titles. 16 colour tipped-in plates. Many b/w illustrations. 319 pages. 10 x 7.5". Light rubbing to corners. Gift insription in ink to front pastedown. Text block browned. A few grubby marks to contents. Plates are fine. Some b/w illustrations coloured in with colouring pencils. A few pages have a tiny piece of the lower corner missing. Dustwrapper is chipped at corners, a large amount of loss to base of spine (3") and thus spine of book is lightly faded where the dustwrapper is missing, also a little creased.

Green decorated cloth with black title to spine and cream title to front cover. All edges are gilt. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Some stains (minor) to front cover. Apart from some foxing the contents are clean and bright.
