Being a sketch by pen and pencil of their terrible sufferings at Sea, and their hair-breadth escapes by land. Large format. Red cloth boards with illustration to front and rear. No title to spine. B/w illustrations. 55 pages. All edges gilt. Boards mottled and damp stained. Top & tail of spine fraying. Endpapers browned. Small name in ink to front endpaper. A few grubby marks to contents mainly to margins.

Second Edition. Pictorial glazed boards show a young girl in a high chair with title banner and cat looking up at two butterflies. First story is 'A Lesson in Kindness'. 4 Colour plates plus b/w illustrations. 70 pages. Cracking to laminate at spine edge with some loss of surface paper. Corners worn. Boards bowed. Contemporary inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. A few marks to contents but generally a lovely copy.
