Beige cloth spine, pictorial front board shows boy and girl on a sledge on a river which has iced over. Colour frontis by Florence Harrison. B/w text illustrations throughout. A book of short stories and verses. Spine and corners bumped, covers slightly edge rubbed. Large but light stain to rear cover. Prize plate to front free-endpaper. Foxing to textblock and to page margins. One hinge is cracked showing webbing beneath.

Almost very good condition.
Stories by Natalie Joan, delightfully illustrated with 8 colour plates and b/w drawings in the text. Beige cloth spine with black title, pictorial front board showing mother putting child to bed. 77 pages. 10" x 7.25". Spine and corners slightly bumped and worn. Front joint has been repaired with white paper tape. Contents are pulled causing them to be a little loose. Some light foxing and other marks but generally contents clean.

Pictorial front cover shows three children, rocking horse and dog, black titles. Colour plates, plus colour, tint and b/w illustrations. 200 pages. First story - Tommy's Topper by Madeline Barnes. Spine bumped, worn and grubby with a vertical crease from top to bottom. Corners and cover edges worn. Covers grubby. Rear joint and a couple of hinges cracked. Ink inscription in To box on front endpaper and 1930 written to verso of frontis. A few marks to contents but most pages are clean. A little foxing.

First story is "How We Let Lodgings" by Mrs. G. Wemyss. Angela Brazil story is "A Terrible Handful". Spine bumped and worn with nicks to cloth at ends. Bumping and wear to corners and cover edges. Covers slightly grubby with a few marks and scratches, small amount of surface paper damage to front cover. A couple of hinges cracked. Ink inscription to verso of front endpaper. Pale stain to edge of title page and small stain to lower margin of frontis. Contents generally clean. All plates present.
